Prices and payment options
Some VPN services can be used free of charge, but there are also many paid VPN services. We would advise never to use a free VPN service (read on to find out why). Nearly all VPN providers support payment with iDeal, credit card or PayPal. Some VPN providers also accept payments in Bitcoins or via Google Checkout or bank transfer.
The price tag for the additional safety, online privacy and the other benefits of a VPN service is remarkably small. For a few Euros per month, you can use a VPN service with fast servers and a customer service that assists you if you need help during installation or if there are any problems. Protect yourself today against Internet criminals with a VPN service!
Supported devices
There are VPN services that work on virtually any device, from iOS on an iPhone or an iPad to Android, a router, NAS or an Xbox 360. However, this does not apply to all VPN services. For this reason we list the supported devices for each VPN provider.
Speed and data volume
VPN services differ in speed. For example, Internet may become considerably slower when you connect to some VPN servers, while other VPN services use fast servers with little or no impact on the Internet speed. In addition, there are VPN providers that offer only limited bandwidth, which will slow down the Internet considerably if you make (too) much use of the VPN. Most VPN providers can be used simultaneously on a couple of devices only, although there are some VPN services that support simultaneous use on an unlimited number of devices.
Customer service
Almost all VPN providers can be reached by email if you experience a problem with the VPN service or if you have a question. In addition, some VPN providers offer support by telephone or live chat. Some VPN providers can also operate your computer remotely (‘remote desktop’) to fix a problem.
